This year has simply flown by. As the leader of the best team in candy, I get to see up close and personal all the love, care and effort our team puts into providing you with delicious candies and incredible service. For Seeās, 2023 has been another year of excitement and new beginnings. Weāve introduced wonderful new products like Dark Chocolate Irish Cream, Sugar Free Chocolate Lollypops and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Footballs. Weāve opened 10 new shops that sparkle and shine and get to serve 10 new communities. And, weāve updated packaging, equipment and technology to continue growing for you into our second century.
And so, here we are in another holiday season, and I hope yours is off to a sweet start! Simply put, Seeās is not Seeās without our customers. You are the reason we are still growing and going strong over 102 years later. As we enter into sunny August, I am thrilled to share an exciting announcement that supports Seeās mission of bringing joy. Today kicks off our month-long partnership with the ASPCAĀ® for the celebration of Dogust. Since 2008, Dogust has been celebrated nationwide on August 1 for dogs whose birthdays are unknown. So, if you know or love a shelter dog but didnāt know that dogās birthday ā now you do!
For over 150 years, the ASPCAĀ® has worked to rescue, protect, and find loving homes for countless animals in need nationwide. Founded on the belief that animals deserve kind and respectful treatment from humans and must be protected under the law, the ASPCA has established programs and operates facilities across the country to support disaster and cruelty response, relocation efforts for homeless animals, pet adoption, rehabilitation, and recovery for animal victims, animal welfare advocacy, veterinary services, and so much more. In 2022, I visited dozens of our shops throughout the West and attended Grand Openings. I have the privilege of saying Iāve visited each and every of Seeās year-round shops and many of our holiday pop-up shops, and I am always amazed and humbled by getting to meet our customers and hear your stories of Seeās joy. Whether itās telling me your familyās longstanding Seeās tradition, hearing about your favorite piece, or seeing the excited look on your face as you walk into one of our classic shops for the first time, it is a true honor to have the opportunity to get to know you and learn your Seeās story. It's hard to believe that we are heading into the last few months of our year-long Centennial celebration! It has been a banner year, to say the least, and Iām confident we will finish it out strong. We have so much to look forward to here at Seeās as we approach the holiday season. Personally, it's my favorite time of year to be in the business of making and selling joy!
In honor of our 100th anniversary, we have launched a new Limited-Time Sweet at the beginning of every month, and I hope you are enjoying each one as much as I am. In August, we released the highly requested Dark Salted Caramel, and this monthās sweet is extra special. To celebrate our incredible founder, Mary See, during her birthday month and amidst our Centennial, we've launched a festive new flavor--Birthday Cake! It's golden vanilla buttercream, deliciously draped in rich white chocolate and topped with a dash of rainbow candy sprinklesā¦perfect for the occasion! I am back to one of my favorite routines-visiting shops, and it feels great. I love to hear how Seeās plays a role in your family traditions, how we have brought you joy when you needed it most, and of course, chatting about your favorite pieces.
